The concept of My Local Poker

The concept is simple - Power to the players.

The principle is simple – We all want to make a dollar.

This site is created and run by poker players for the benefit of poker players.

Large corporate websites are taking over many areas of the World Wide Web, for nothing more than the profits to be made. They are constructed by companies and webmasters with resources applied to dominating the search engine rankings. Most have little or no interest in promoting either a higher quality of poker play, or a healthy poker community.

Total industry revenue is massive, hence the reason for so many poker sites on the net. Profits for some of the largest sites are huge.

Our aim is to take the cash ourselves, and give it back to the players whom are members of the MLP forum, in the form of prize pools in MLP member's games.

You can help build up the value of the monthly freerolls that you are eligible to enter and win, as well as the prize pool for the end of year bonanzas, by simply signing up to and playing real money games in the poker rooms you sign up to, via the links on our Poker Resource page.

With us all helping to build the pot, revenue and therefore prize pools may grow to thousands each month. You, the member, contribute to the prize pool by adding to this site. The more traffic the site promotes, the better it gets for the membership as a whole.

Our website earns revenue predominantly from you having fun playing poker, through banners found in our Poker Resource page. When you play, they send us money towards our Cash Ticker.

This new concept is under trial and will continue until at least the summer of 2007.
It may be subject to change in the future; for now we are distributing the revenue as detailed below.

Website Revenue Distribution
25% of the revenue will go towards maintaining both websites.	Yes, unfortunately it does cost to bring you all of this entertainment. Brian does make great savings though by not insisting on having chilled champagne on tap. He says "there's no point of going to the expense of chilling it, if it's only going in my bath".
75% of the total revenue generated by both sites will go directly back to the forum members, in the form of prize pools in our freerolls and special events	60% of this revenue will be played for in the monthly freerolls & special events 32% goes into a pot to be played for by the top 30 players in the Freeroll League end of year Bonanza 8% goes to a pot to be played for in an end of year Bonanza Freeroll for all the current members that have achieved the rank of Two Pair (currently ten posts on the forum)

This distribution will be reviewed as the site grows in number, and will inevitably have a bearing upon our future direction and membership goals. Evaluation is on-going with a major yearly review.

We envisage a stage when the concept (with your help) allows the community site to evolve to a point where, each year we will vote to elect a forum council. The council will represent the members and work with the website administration. They will have access to revenue statistics and have a say in our future direction.

There is no membership fee and only a few simple membership rules.
