League News - July 1st until December 31st 2008

General league News :
From July 1st, the MLP Freeroll League will be on hiatus. This doesn't mean that it's gone for good but will allow us to continue with the increasingly popular Mini-Leagues which will vary between Freerolls and Buy-In games. The Buy-In League continues as normal with it's current $3+.30 buy-in level with the H.O.R.S.E. League taking a small drop in added money but with an increase of games per month to balance this out in the cash pool.

The Mini-Leagues :
In the table above, you'll be able to see all the old, current and future leagues we have planned with their current status and direct links to the latest tables. This gives us plenty of chance to try new things and keep things fresh on the forum. There is a direct link to this thread situated under the main logo (top left of each page) entitled : MLP Leagues Overview.

The MLP Hall Of Fame :
Our change in structure also means some changes in the MLP Hall of Fame with the addition of points given for "specified awards" gained from certain Mini-Leagues. We have simple rules for this;

- the Main Leagues seen at the top always offer both medals and trophies

- any Mini-League that offers medals per game will give an award but no points for the overall winner
eg. the Quickdraw or Omaha League

- any Mini-League that does not offer medals per game will give an award plus 2 points (the so called "specified award") to the overall winner
eg. the Bounty or Team MLP Leagues

- medals are only awarded to games that have a minimum of 10 entrants

* the rules for the Mini-Leagues are to ensure the main focus remains on the big leagues (10 - 12 games) but we wanted to make sure that at least some points (max. 4 per Mini-League) were offered for all these events.

The Bonanza is Dead, Long Live the Champions League :
We have decided to drop the 6 monthly All Leagues Bonanza and run the MLP Champions League on a regular basis instead. The qualification structure of the Champions League will be changing so that basically, the Top 14 Hall Of Famers qualify by right and then we will offer 2 wild card places which will be fought over by the Top 8 point scorers over a 2/3 month period (you will not necessarily have to be in the Hall Of Fame to qualify). We should have this out front within the next couple of weeks and plan to run the next Champions League in January 2009 with the qualification ending on November 30th.

* We may however, run some kind of Bonanza in the future depending on the budget and situation.

Top Posters to Active Members
The current Top Posters game is also suspended. With the latest changes to the Active Members Club, it seems fairly pointless to specify a game like this, so we will now be putting the cash for that one into extra Active Members events each month.

And Finally ......Passwords
We will continue with the current password system for the Main Leagues (posting screen names for each game) as we have seen a definate improvement security-wise and as i've mentioned on numerous occasions, the potential for us to monitor problems, greatly increases with this method. Yes, i know it's a bit annoying, but the system is there to protect the members and well worth the couple of minutes per week it takes you to come in and register.

Mini-Leagues and regular Extra Buy-Ins will continue to be a one time sign-up for all games until further notice.
