The MLP Active Members Club
The Active Members Club membership list can always be found in the Poker Groups here

We will be monitoring closely how this new system works and may well refine or change things in the future. We have tried to simplify our tournament and league requirements whilst casting a broader eye on what constitutes an Active Member and how best we can encourage you to post, play and have fun on the forum.

Note : All MLP leagues will now be open to every member including the new MLP Freeroll League, without need to be part of the Active Members Club. Information on this is available in the various League Table threads.

An Overview of the Active Members Club
- All members from the old Freeroll League Membership that have been active in some way over the last 3 months will automatically be made part of the Active Members Club. The Freeroll League Membership will then be defunct.

- The Active Members Club will grant you access to special freerolls and events outside of the leagues including InterForum Tournaments, The Venus & Mars Cup and other Active Member Freerolls. There will however be All Member Freerolls on occasion which will be open to all registered members of MLP.

- You do not have to sign up anywhere to become Active. You will be noticed. If you have any questions about "How to become Active", please post in the thread here or PM to BlackTyson or Know-nuffin who will be happy to answer any of your queries.

- When a new or returning member first becomes Active, we will post a message in the Active Members Club thread. A full list of the membership of Active Members Club can always be found in the Poker Groups here. All you need to do to remain in the group is be active within My-Local-Poker, whether it is by posting on the forum or playing in our games, you are helping to make this a fine place to be.

If for any reason you lose your status; post and play, so we can re-activate you.

- Please let us know if you will be away on any extended leave or vacation and will we take this into consideration when updating the Active Members Club.

- The Active Members Club will be moderated and checked by BlackTyson at the end of each month, although administration reserves the right to deviate from this in certain circumstances. Members will be active for at least a month except in extreme situations such as constant abuse, spamming or treating forum games without the respect they deserve. In this case, their Active Status would be removed.

- If a member loses their Active Members Club status or has it removed for conduct reasons, it will still be possible to become active again in the future.

How Do I Become A Member of the Active Members Club
There is not one specific way to become a member of the Active Members Club. All we are looking for is some kind of contribution to the forum whether it by posting, playing, chat room use, organizing activities, etc. This system gives us a lot more scope than the old Freeroll Membership and will allow us to reward more members than ever before. We are purposely leaving precise details a little grey as we want to see how the system works in practise and encourage all of our members to stay regularly involved with the forum on some kind of basis.

Here's a couple of examples of how a member may have become active :

1, a member has become active due to making a number of quality posts during the month; we suggest you look to contribute a minimum of 10 quality posts. (One line replies will not usually count)

2, a member has become active due to them playing a number of MLP buy-in games as well as making a number of relevant posts. We have many members who do not post regularly although they do download, deposit and often play in our games. This contributes much to the forum, so these members will also be recognised as active.

3, a member has become active by as well as them posting and playing, they have spent time in the chat room supporting others during say, an OFC game; this is also a worthy contribution.

How Do I Continue Being Part of the Member of the Active Members Club
Active Members Club status will not be removed from a member if they have an occasional month where they are busy away from the forum. However, to keep the vibrancy about the place, and offer the best benefits to those who contribute the most, we ask all members to keep posting and playing our buy-in games. If we notice an "Active" member only playing the Active Extra Freerolls and not contributing elsewhere to the site, it is only fair that they will be prompted to contribute more or lose the benefits of being an "Active" member.

Summary
As you can see, we are trying to make this as flexible as possible and hope you will all be patient with us whilst we allow the new system to find it's feet. We will always respond to any questions you may have about your Active Status.

Please note : BlackTyson's decisions for the Active Members Club are final and she has the full backing of the moderating team and administration in helping to run this group. Every member will be looked at equally and fairly. If you are contributing to the forum in some of the ways mentioned above .....please be patient, you will become active soon.

Extra Information :

You will see that the MLP Freeroll League (as of 01.01.2008) has a new structure and scoring system. Our plan is, that there will now usually be at least one Active Members Freeroll per month. These will come in the shape of standard freerolls called Active Extra Freerolls or special types of freerolls such as The Venus & Mars Cup, The Intercontinental Cup plus other ideas that we will try in the new year.

The blue medal will now be awarded to winners of Active Extra Freerolls with the green medal continuing to be awarded for special events.

Hopefully we will also add more events to the Active Members Club each month when the budget allows and as the club grows. We have also created an Active Members Club Private Area which will be used for pre-registration lists should the need arise.

Harry - Will there be some sort of "active"/"in-active" designation somewhere on our author area so we can tell if we have been bumped to in-active?

Additional to Niti's answer JR; this is a new system dreamt up by Harry that we're all getting used to.

We have made it easy for everyone to join and remain in the active group; at this stage it will most likely not be necessary to list those who have become inactive. If in the future we find the need then we will certainly introduce it.

We could even name it after you; 'The JR list for Flaccid Members'

Being active is what we are trying to promote.

We would like members to be active in all areas, playing buy-ins, posting and supporting others. That way we are all giving to the forum and each other.

Hi Robertz

The Active Members Freerolls are for active members. Stick around, post and play our buy-ins and you'll be eligible for Active games soon enough.

We run 3 leagues, the Freeroll League with 20 Top Poster from the previous month, (plus the mod team) play, along with entrants from the Online Forum Challenge where members have represented MLP.

The Buy-In League is a over 12 games with a $3,30 buy in and $40 added to each game, again top 10 awards points. All you need to do for that is to have your screen name in your profile.

The HORSE League is a $2,20 buy in $40 added

Sounds pretty easy to understand on how to become an active member. You've taken the time to explain so that about covers any questions a member might have. I hope I can get started and play in some of your buy in games if I have money at the sites you play at. If I don't then better start playing the sites free rolls to make enough to play then.

I belong to alot of diff forums and they also post what is required of it's members to be able to play in free rolls. Some by post others by playing the buy in's. But you people here go out of your way to spell out everything so clearly to the members it's hard not to understand and know the rules here. Plus all the other information you have posted here.It shows you put alot of thought into how a forum should be run. Proud that I have become a member here.
